Our long day of travel went exactly as planned, always a good thing. Our final destination was Göteborg (Gothenburg).
After arriving at the hotel, we walked around the old part of the city and came across a statue of Christopher Polhem, the “father of Swedish engineering”. He’s even featured on the back of the 500-kronor bill here in Sweden. Glad to see that engineers are properly respected here! There are many lessons we can learn from the Swedes.
Tomorrow morning we have an appointment at the Volvo factory to pick up the car. Then we will head north and east toward Broddetorp. This is where my great-great-grandparents Anders Gustaf Brodd and Gustafva Johansdotter came from in 1875.
