I have recently uncovered some very sad information about my 4x-great-uncle Joseph Fraser. Joseph was a brother to Andrew Fraser, my 3x-great-grandfather. Andrew emigrated to the United States from Scotland in about 1855. But Joseph stayed in Scotland his entire life.

After watching “The Great War” on PBS this week, I realized the significance of some notes in one of Great-Grandmother Lola’s ledger books, involving both the Frasier and the Pearson families.
Fraser Update
I got the “Forgotten Hero” book in the mail earlier this week, and I’ve dug into the family history of the DNA match who shares a common ancestor with us. Nothing definitive yet, but perhaps some progress!
New Fraser Clues
Following up on my trip to Scotland in June, I found out about some DNA testing that is available for males with the Fraser surname. Cousin Sara and I exchanged some ideas, and she quickly recruited her brother to submit a sample. Some really interesting findings have already turned up!
