Confirmation Class Lutheran Church 1894

On April 1, 1894 the above class was confirmed at the Swedeburg Lutheran Church. The man seated in the center is the pastor, Rev. J. Torell, one of the best men who ever came to this country. He was one of the early supporters of Luther College. He came to this country in 1888. Left to right (back row): Minnie Helsing Isaacson, Emily Anderson, Albert Gustafson, Victor Hedlund, Mary Anderson (Mrs. Axel Nelson, Ceresco), and Ellen Johnson (Mrs. Willie Bengston). Front row: Lilly Bengston (Mrs. Herman Brodd), Hanna Louis (Mrs. Dr. Woeppel), Rev. J. Torell, C.H. Brodd and Theodore Brostrom.
