    Robert Monroe "Mutt" Warren, 93, of Candler, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, after a brief illness. A native of South Hominy, he was the youngest of the thirteen children of the late Lawson Baxter Warren and Julia Poston Warren. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty McIntosh Warren of the home; a daughter, Ronda L. Warren of Asheville; granddaughter, Janna L. Jenkins and great-grandson, Brian West of Weaverville; son-in-law, James Jenkins and brothers-in-law and their wives, Marvin and Becky McIntosh and Bill and Evelyn McIntosh, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary "Jean" Jenkins. Mr. Warren began his career as an electrician with Mack Electric Company, Enka. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 238, for 55 years, serving as Business Manager for a number of those years. He was an Army veteran, serving his country in World War II in North Africa, Italy, and the Normandy Invasion, where he was severely wounded. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
