Johnson, one of the pioneer citizens of this part of the state and a resident of Laramie for a long number of years, died at 4:30 this afternoon, at his home, Third and Garfield streets, leaving two sons, Mel Johnson and Elwood Johnson, and one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Carruth, and a grandson, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Carruth. He had been ill for some time, but on Thursday was up and about the house, eating his breakfast and declaring that he felt well. Later he was taken worsse and the end came this afternoon. Mr. Johnson was a director of the Albany National Bank and prominent as a Pythian, having been chancellor commander of the local lodge. He was at one time a member of the board of county commissioners and state senator from Albany County. Arrangement for the funeral have not been made.

At first, the head of the household is Pehr Andersson with wife Maja Cajsa Johansdotter and their three children: Britta Maria, Anders Petter and Johanna. Pehr dies in 1863 and Maja Cajsa remarries to Gunnar Andreasson from Mellby. They have a son together in 1868 named August. Cajsa's young brother Johan works for them from 1864 to 1867 (during the period when Maja Cajsa was probably without a husband) and then leaves for Segerstad. Cajsa's other young brother August (twin of Johan) works for them starting in 1868.
