Norris managed the Farmers Mutual Insurance Agency. When Phyllis Pearson Olson went back to work, the girls were all in school, and she worked for Norris.
OBITUARY
Norris Johnson, who was born September 15, 1911 to Oscar Johnson and his wife Julia Walin Johnson departed this life to begin his new life in Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 11, 1984.
On February 27, 1946 Norris and A. Alvena (Millie) Walin were united in Christian marriage at Grace Lutheran Church, Swedeburg. To this marriage was born two sons, Harvey D. Johnson and Kerry L. Johnson.
Baptized into the Lutheran faith as a child on November 5, 1911 at Grace Lutheran Church, Swedeburg, Norris was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ceresco on May 23, 1926. Active in three Lutheran Churches throughout his adult life, Nos served as a member of the church council at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ceresco, Grace Lutheran Church, Swedeburg, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wahoo. In addition to serving on the church council of Bethlehem, Norris also served for some time as financial secretary and at one time was active in the Boy Scout program sponsored by the church.
From high school graduation until 1960, Norris farmed in the Wahoo-Ceresco area. In 1961 he became Secretary-Treasurer of Farmer's Mutual Insurance Co. of Wahoo and served in that capacity until retirement in 1978. From 1978 until 1983 he sed as president of the company.
Norris is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Julia and one sister, Fern. He is survived by his loving wife, Alvena (Millie) Johnson of Wahoo; two sons, Harvey D. Johnson of Seward and Kerry L. Johnson of Wahoo; one daughter-in-law, Picia (Trish) L. Davisson Johnson of Seward; two granddaughters, Kathryn E. and Ann C. Johnson of Seward; one brother, Clayton of Ceresco and one sister, Frances of Verdigree, Nebraska.

Norris Johnson Rites Wednesday
A former Wahoo businessman, Norris J. Johnson, 73, died Sunday in an Omaha hospital.
Johnson was born Sept. 15, 1911 at Ceresco, and later married Alvena Wallin on February 27, 1946 at Swedeburg.
Mr. Johnson farmed, was employed at the Mead Ordnance Plant and served as Secretary-Treasurer of Farmer's Mutual Insurance Co. of Wahoo. He was also a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was an assistant in the Boy Scout program and amber of Kiwanis.
Survivors include his widow; sons, Harvey D, Seward; and Kerry L, Wahoo; a brother, Clayton, Ceresco; and a sister, Frances Johnson, Verdegree; and two grandchildren.
Assisting in the service was organist Mrs. Mike Kralik. Honorary casket bearers were: Henry Rood, Clair Miller, John Edstrom, Harold Broman, Stanley Dukolil and Raymond Thorston. Casket bearers were: Leroy Hanson, Lyle Dukolil, Ross Larson, Rld Johnson, Robert Liliedahl, and Rev. Stanley Larson, with Erickson-Hult-Pruss Funeral Home in charge.
Internment was in Swedeburg Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials to the church or the Heart Fund.
