She arrives from Bergstena in 1855 and leaves for Mellby in 1856. Gustafva returns in 1857 and then leaves again for Mellby in 1858. Both Sven and his wife were from Mellby, so perhaps Gustafva is sent "on loan" to Mellby due to her employers' connections. I could not find Gustafva anywhere in the Mellby records. |

Moving Out record for Soldat Brodd and family Line 20. In an undated entry for 1875, the family of Soldat Anders Gustaf Brodd is listed as "utan attest" which means "without papers" and their destination is Amerika. Also listed is wife Gustafva Johansdotter, daugher Anna Mathilda, son Johan August and daughter Augusta Charlotta. Two other soliders and their families are also listed. |
||
Emigration | 7 May 1875 | Göteborg, Sweden [16] |
Orlando Passenger List Although the family is listed with the surname Anderson, I am certain this is the correct family. It correctly lists the parish (Håkantorp), the number of passengers, and the time frame. Three of the five names are correct. Because A.G. escaped military service and the family left without papers from their home parish, they may have had cause to not mention their soldier's name (Brodd). |
