Marlin served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from December 6, 1951 until December 5, 1953.
He was stationed in the Marshall Islands Bikini Atoll. Marlin acted as a butcher, a baker and then the Ice Cream Maker before being sent state side and being Honorably discharged from Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Marlin's rank was Corporal in the Quarter Master Corps. During his military service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
