Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Erickson were among friends who attended the Practical Nursing Graduation Exercises of Mrs. Florence Olson held Sunday in Omaha. They were, following the exercises, among those as supper guests in Mrs. Olson's home.

OBITUARY - TAKEN FROM THE FUNERAL MEMORIAL
Florence Violet Olson departed this life to begin her new life in Jesus Christ January 2, 2003 at the Saunders County Hospital. She was born to Wilhelm and Ellen Johnson Bengtson May 23, 1908 on a farm west of Swedeburg. She was baptized by. Torrell and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, Swedeburg, Easter Sunday, April 1, 1923.
Florence's mother passed away in January of 1918 when Florence was 10 years old. When her Dad had extra farm help for harvest she had to come home from school and make dinner for them.
Florence attended school at Swedeburg through the tenth grade and then attended Luther Academy in Wahoo for her junior and senior year, graduating in 1926.
May 30, 1929 she married Percy Olson. They lived on a farm one mile east of Swedeburg. Three children were born to this marriage, Marlin, Jean and Janet.
In October of 1958, Florence moved to Wahoo into a new home. She and her husband had planned the home together but Percy passed away in September before they moved to Wahoo.
In December of that same year she started work at Saunders County Hospital where she worked for twenty years. In 1962 she took a L.P.N. course in Omaha for a year. She graduated in 1963 and took her State Board examination and passed it. Sheed back home and went back to work at the hospital retiring when she was 70 years old.
Florence belonged to the Extension Club and the Garden Club of Wahoo.
While a member of Grace Lutheran Church she taught Sunday School for many years. She joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church in 1958 and has been an active member ever since participating as a member of the Bethlehem Women of the ELCA, circle leaderr the Love Circle and a member of the Adult Forum and a member of the Bethlehem woman's quilting group.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Percy. She is survived by three children: Marlin Olson and his wife Phyllis of Wahoo, Jean Mortensen of Omaha, and Janet Sayers and her husband Richard of Omaha; nine grandchildrennd their spouses and seven great grandchildren. They are: Crystal and Jerry Balthrop, Marlys and Charles Jones, Becky and James Kellogg and Grahamm, Lori and Lee Queen, Libby and Leslie, Joni Mortensen, Kirk and Trish Mortensen and Alex and Adam, Meri and Kent Christenson, Charles and Wendy Jo Sayers and Julie, Sonja and Brian Weiss and Alexondra. Florence is also survived by one brother, Dwain Benson of Wahoo.
We rejoice and give thanks for the life and ministry of Florence to her Lord, her church and her family and her many friends.
