Dennis L. Jones, 71, Lincoln, died Wednesday (11/3/04) following a brief illness with cancer. Born, Stromsburg (10/7/33), to Oscar and Alma (Nelson) Jones. Owner, Jones Glass, 20 years. Member:First Lutheran Church, Glaziers Union Local 573,se Lodge. Enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, spending time with family and friends. Always there when anyone needed anything. Stayed positive throughout his entire illness, never complained or asked, "Why me?"
Survivors: wife, Nancy, 50 years; sons, Brad, Scott, both Lincoln; daughter, son-in-law, Cindy and Marty Anderson, Lincoln; grandchildren, spouse, Brandon and Becky Jones, Justin Jones, Jennifer Anderson, Kristin Anderson, Jordyn Jones; great-grandson, Jacob Anderson; brothers, sisters-in-law, Wesley and Ruth Jones, Osceola, Burdette and Sharon Jones, Irvin and Rose Jones, all Lincoln; sisters, brothers-in-law, Helen Tiaden, Columbus, Betty Jean and Norman Michener, Columbus; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other friends and relatives. Preceded in death by parents.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, First Lutheran Church, 1551 S. 70th St. Pastor Donald Griffith. Swede Home Cemetery. Visitation: noon-9 p.m. Sunday, with family greeting friends 3-5 p.m., Roper &Sons Funeral Home, 4300 OSt.; one hour before servs, church; after services, 2:30-3 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service, 3 p.m., Calvary Lutheran Church, SwedeHome, followed by burial.
