577 | 20 Sep 1911 Wedding Chester Frasier and Alice Smith At 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W.V. Smith of 2112 E street, took place the marriage of Miss Alice M. Smith and Chester A. Frasier of Council Bluffs. The Rev. J.W. Hilton of Cotner university officiated in the presence of the immediate relaties of the bride and groom. The groom's sister, Miss Nellie Frasier, of Ashland played the wedding march. The bride's home is in Illinois but she has lived in this city with here [sic] aunt for the last year and a half. The couple will be at home to friends in Council Bluffs after November 1. The relatives present from out of the city were the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Frasier and Miss Nellie Frasier of AShland, and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Thurlwell of Malcolm. | |||

584 | 22 Mar 1923 Jermain Whitehouse obituary Jermain Erving Whitehouse was born in Oswego, N.Y. July 7, 1843. He came with his parents to Houston county, Minn, in 1856. Feb 1 1864 he enlisted in the 1st Minnesota Battery Light Artillery Volunteers and saw service under General Grant at Vicksburg, and was with Sherman on this March to the Sea. He received an Honorable Discharge June 30, 1865. He answered to the call of the Great Commander at 15 minutes of 4:00 o'clock Sunday p.m., March 11, 1923, dying by a stroke in his home in Houston. Had he lived till July 7 he would have been 80 years of age. Previous to his enlistment, Mr. Whitehouse was married to Louise Appleby. After the war he settled in Money Creek and in 1869 was married to Dora Wilson, who died Dec. 15, 184. Mr Whitehouse was again married Sept. 24, 1885 to Mrs. Ella Whitney, who survives him. His children are as follows: Frank Erving Whitehouse, Norfolk, Neb., Mrs. Delo Viers and Fred Erving Whitehouse, Rushford, Minn., Mrs. Harry Smith of Houston and Vernon S. Whitehouse, Rodman, Iowa. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and one brother, Charles Whitehouse of Houston. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Presbyterian church, Rev. McKinney officiating. Prof. Wled had charge of the music. The burial was in Money Creek and services at the grave were conducted by the G.A.R. and the American Legion, who attend in a body and whose impressive ceremony was a fitting tribute to the worth and services of an honored veteran. The American Legion also furnished the pall-bearers. The sympathy of our community goes out to the stricken family their sudden bereavement. | |||

591 | 25 Jan 1949 Ida Frasier obituary - Ashland Gazette Hold Services for Mrs. Ida Frasier Ida Black Frasier was born at Fairfield, Ind., May 1, 1864 and passed away at Lincoln, Nebr., on Jan. 25, 1949 at the age of 84 years, 8 months, and 25 days. She came to North English, Ia. with her farmily when one year of age. The trip took three weeks in a covered wagon. Her early girlhood was spent in the vicinities of North and South English, Harper, and Keota, Ia. In 1879 she came to Nebraska with the family of E.J. Rosecrans, with whom she made her home. On April 1, 1886 she was married to Edward A. Frasier of Ashland, and they made their home on a farm 5 1/2 miles west of Ashland until her husband's death on Dec. 10, 1938. Seven children were born to this union, one daughter, Maude Belle, having died in infancy. Surviving are Chester A., Grinnell, Ia.; Roscoe E., Ceresco; Nellie I Frasier, Glendale, Calif.; Mabel Williamson and Clarence D. Frasier, Lincoln, and Myrtle Hrubesky of Geneva. Mrs. Frasier also leaves 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren to mourn her loss as well as other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Frasier was a member of the New Hope Christian church and a charter member of the West Ashland Women's club. She was actively interested in these organizations as long as her health permitted. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Marcy chapel with Rev. H. H. Utterback in charge. Mrs. Warren Robinson sang "Going Home" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Mrs. H.F. Anderson was her accompanist. Pallbearers were Jess Russell, Clyde Landon, Lynn Converse, Ed Vance, Jess Parks and O.J. Lohr. Interment was made in the Ashland cemetery. | |||
