1944 | ![]() | Ida Martinson obituary Obituary Mrs. Ida Mostrom, well known and beloved member of the Ceresco community, was suddenly called to her Eternal Home Thursday afternoon following a heart attach which she suffered two days earlier. At her death she was 67 years, 7 months and 22 days old. She was born September 4, 1877 in the Swedeburg community and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Martinson. February 8, 1899, she was happily married to Mr. Fred Mostrom and to this union were born six children, two dying in infancy. Mrs. Mostrom's entire life was lived in Saunders County and the last thirty-five years have been spent in Ceresco. Her devoted husband, Fred Mostrom, passed away in 1935 and since then she has made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, the Joe Nelson family, where she found comfort and tender care. Mrs. Mostrom was a Christian of the unfeigned faith, and a faithful member of the Evang. Covenant church of Ceresco since 1908. In the days of her strength she was a tireless church worker, and for a number of years sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher. To the last she rarely missed a service or a prayer meeting. Mr. Mostrom will be greatly missed from our community. She is deeply mourned by four children, one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Nelson of Ceresco; three sons, Carl of Ceresco, Philip of Chicago, Ill. and John of Bartlesville, Okla.; five chandchildren; two sisters, Miss Mathilda Martinson of Chicago, Ill and Mrs. H. F. Carlson of Batavia, Ill. and many other relatives and friends. Funderal service was conducted Monday afternoon at the Covenant church in Ceresco with Rev. Ebert Turnquist officiating. Music was was contributed by Mrs. Roy Anderson and Mrs. Russell Swanson, with Miss Dorothy Dahl at the piano. Pallbearers were John Dahl, Arvid Swanson; Chas. Nelson; John Edner and William and Harry Nelson. Interment was in Sunrise Cemetery, Wahoo, | ||
