Orpha A. Timmons

Orpha A. Hatfield was born in Yutan, Nebraska, October 30th, 1891, and departed this life Jun 24, 1921, at Norfolk, Nebr., at the age of29 years, 8 months and 24 days. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Ashland where she attended the public schools.

In 1911 she was united in marriage to Otto S. Timmons. To this union was born one son, Elmer Jay.

She accepted Jesus as her Savior in early childhood and in march, 1917, together with her husband she united with the United Brethren church, and one year later she was transferred by letter to the Methodist church at Tilden, Nebr., of which she was a member to the last. She was also a member in good standing of the Rebekah lodge of Newman Grove. She has been a constant sufferer for several years, and while her death was not unexpected, it was a great shock, for to know her was to love her. everything that loving hands could do was done to help her, but without the desired results.

She leaves to mourn her death, her mother, Mrs. J.P. Hatfield; her husband, and son, Jay; one brother Omer S. Hatfield of Ashland; one sister, Mrs. Wm. B. Levey of Chicago; and aged grandmother Mrs. Steele, of Yutan; and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by REv. J.P. Cooprider. The body was laid to rest in the Ashland cemetery. The Rebekah lodge held the ritualistic service at the grave.

Those from out of ttown attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Timmons, Valley Nebr.; Rex, Russel and GlenTimmons, Valley; Mrs. Jane Steele, Yutan, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bass, Glenwood, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Frazier, Valparaiso, Nebr.
