Helen Townsend Kublin, 91, of Melbourne Beach, Fl. passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at the Clarebridge Assisted Living, Melbourne Fl.. Mrs. Kublin was born in Long Branch and lived most of her life in West Long Branch before moving here in 2003. She was a graduate of Long Branch High School.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Kublin, Sr., in 2003. Surviving is her son and daughter -in-law, Vincent J. and Mary Kublin, of Melbourne, Fl.; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Gloria Townsend, of Melbourne, Fl.; a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Fred Martinson, of West Long Branch; and three grandchildren.

On his application for life insurance in 1940, Charles said his mom was 65 when she died of old age, and was sick 6 months before she died. He said his dad died in 1890 and no other info was given. He said he had lived at 18 Oakwood Ave for 15 years.
Both birth dates for Charles are from NY State Certificates of Birth, delayed registration, dated October 19, 1953. He had two birth certificate searches done in 1953 for social security. These were dated March and July 1953 and both sd not found.
In the 1930 census Charles said his father was born in England and his mother in Ireland. He also said his birth year was 1889.
In the 1920 census he and his family, which included his widowed mother Sarah, lived in New Britain ward 6, Hartford, CT. He was a machinist at a factory.
I have a copy of a letter from the Albany Home For Children, New Scotland & South Lake Avenues, Albany, NY, dated November 19, 1953. According to their records, Charles was admitted to care on September 12, 1890. He was born July 12,t Troy, NY. It gives both parents names and their birth towns and countries. It said both parents were Protestant. Charles was discharged to his mother's custody on December 2, 1901.

(Research):According to the records of the Albany Home for Children, Charles W. Townsend was admitted to care on September 12, 1890. He was born July 12, 1887 in West Troy, NY. His father was John Townsend, who was born in Belfast, Ireland, and his mother was Sarah Kane Townsend, born near Belfast, Ireland. Both parents were protestant. Charles was discharged to his mother's custody on 12/2/1901. signed, Frank M. Howard, Superintendent, 11/19/1953. Address of the home was New Scotland and South Lake Avenues, Albany, NY.

Charles married Leonore Little on 17 Aug 1917. Leonore (daughter of Raymond Little and Minnie Hogan) was born on 17 Oct 1896 in New York City, , NY; died on 11 Apr 1945 in Long Branch, Monmouth, NJ; was buried on 16 Apr 1945 in Mt. Sarah's death certificate says, Charles Townsend was the informant, of Asbury Park, NJ. She was buried or buried from, Red Bank, NJ. The address said 1031 Bangs Ave, I think in Asbury Park, NJ. Length of residence where death occured was 1 month, 10 days. Under ' if non-resident', it said New Britton, Conn. The doctor was R. S. Bennett, Asbury Park, NJ. Occupation said housework. There is no gravestone on Sarah's grave in Fairview Cemetery. There was no funeral home listed in the cemetery record book. The record book said she was 54 years and 14 days old at her death. The graves were purchased by Charles and Lanore Townsend.
A NY certificate of birth for Charles William Townsend, says Sarah was born in 1856. The records at Fairview Cemetery list Aug. 24, 1866, as birthdate?
In the 1920 census Sarah was living with her son Charles and family in New Britain, Hartford, CT. She said she came to America in 1870. She was listed as widowed. She said she was 57 years old, making 1863 her birth year? She became an 1881.
