Ginger was cremated. Her daughter, Jody Streiff,has the urn in her home. Ginger's urn was placed inside Irene Ladds coffin and they are buried together in Memorial Cem. in Irene's plot.

Mom was born on the Elmlund place, which her mom and dad were renting, at 10:50 AM. The doctor was F.T.Wright. At her baptism, her sponsers were her parents and the congregation, the pastor was C.O. Gulleen. Mom and Dad were married on the Victor Pearson place. Eileen Ecklund and Vincent Martinson were bridesmaid and best man.

Fred was born in a sod house located in the northeast corner of the old Martinson farm. He was last of Lars Martinson's children born in the sod house.The rest were born in the new wood farmhome. Fred was confirmed on May 15, 1892 in the Swedeburg Covanent Church. He died in the Lincoln General Hospital, Lincoln, NE. An autopsy was performed. He and Anna were married in Anna's parents home. After he died, his wife, Anna, gave the Mission Covenant Church a pulpit bible in his memory.

Anna and Fred were married in her family home, Johannes Nelson's place, at four o'clock P.M. on a Wednesday.

Victor was born on the Elmlund place, in Swedeburg NE. I think he graduated from the Luther Academy School of Business in 1909. I think he graduated from Luther Academy in Wahoo NE in 1911. My source is the book, "Past and Present of Saunders County Nebraska, 1915". He was a Private in the 1st World War . He was inducted on June 24, 1918, shipped to France on August 9, 1918, returned to U.S.A. May 28, 1919. He served in the Hante Alsace Sector while overseas. His serial number was 33071 97 Pvt. Cas Det 719 Demol. Group last assgd. 349 Inf. 88th Div. A.E.F. Victor had gray eyes , brown hair, fair complexion and was 5'10.5" tall that year. He was not wounded in service and was given a Honorable Discharge on June 11, 1919. Viictor shipped home from Camp Dodge, IA. He was given a Victory Medal in 1920, by mail. Picture and info in "In The World War 1917-1918-1919 Saunders Co . NE" He was in company 'A' 349th inf. His S.S. number was 507-44-3397. He was a member of the American Legion in Wahoo, NE. On his WWI card he said he was born in Ceresco NE. and was single and working for his father on the farm. They lived on Locust St in Wahoo in retirement.

Arthur was called Lester or Bud. He rode out of Fremont one day on his bicycle and was never heard from again. He lived for a time in Wahoo NE, in his later years. Not much is known about him...Bert Ladd.
Arthur and his wife lived in Nickerson when their second son, Roy, was born. He had or worked at a blacksmith shop in Morse Bluff, Saunders, NE when they had their fifth child, Charles. He also worked for the Northwestern R.R. at some unkno point after Charles was born. He worked for a time for the Wahoo Wasp, Wahoo, Saunders, NE. His job was to try and repair the presses when they broke down. The dates of this job were about 1941-1943. He lived in a hotel in Wahoo, NE, located o on a corner of an intersection, on the second floor. Charles and his wife visited him there on more than one occasion. Arthur also traveled to and from CA many times. While in CA on these trips, he would work at his brother Johns saw sharpeninening shop. These trips were by bus. He rode a bicycle quite a bit in his later years in and around Fremont NE. Jack and Charles say he even got his picture in a Omaha newspaper together with a article about his long bike rides.....Charles Ladddd. Arthur's S.S. number was 508-07-6117. His grave is in section 35, block 7, lot 36, grave 10. In the 1917 draft list, he was number 1909 571, his P.O. was Nickerson NE. On his WWI draft registration card he said he was born in 1886 and was married and had 3 sons.

In the 1910 census, Arthur and Hanna were living with his father and brother in Nickerson NE and there were no children listed! Where was Burt?

Arthur married Hannah Pauline Daiss on 27 Jun 1908 in Blair, Washington, NE. Carl was born in Silfbergs, Kopparbergs, Sweden according to his naturalization papers. His port of emigration in Sweden was Gothenberg, port of entry was Boston, MA, May 9 1912 on the SS Franconia. Listed as Karl on the port of entry. His SS # was 506-18-2510. His WWI draft registration card says Borlanje Sweden. In 1917 he and his family were living in Minneapolis, MN. In 1920 they lived in Cuming Co, NE. In 1930 they were in Burt Co, NE.

Carl married Hilma Desideria Pettersson on 15 Aug 1915 in Minneapolis, Hennepin, MN. Hilma (daughter of Gustaf Henning Pettersson and Hilma Elisabeth Lovisa Andersson) was born on 15 Aug 1893 in Grangardes, Kopparbergs, Sweden; died in Dec 1975 in Oakland, Burt, NE; was buried in 1975 in Oakland Cem., Oakland, Burt, NE.
