Notes: Elna's name was Elna Svensdotter in Sweden but she changed it to Johnson when she came to America on June 7, 1872, with her future brother-in-law, Nels Carlson. Johnson was her fathers name. She stayed with her sister, Mrs. Lars Martinson, until she could be married by a traveling minister. In a census report, she listed 10 born and 8 living children. In the 1910 census, she said 12 born and 7 living. She was living with her son, Charles in 1920 census. She became a citizen in 1877 (1920 census).

Notes: When Nilla and Sven were married, they lived at the farm of Nilla's parents which was #10 Skoglosa, Onnestad Parish, Skane Province, Sweden. Three of their children came to America: Ingar (Mrs. Lars Martinson) in 1870, Elna (Mrs. Andrew Carlsonn) in 1873, and Sven (Sam) in the 1880's. One daughter, Anna (Mrs. John A. Anderson) died in Sweden but her husband and children came to Nebraska after her death. One son of Nilla and Sven, Ola, remained in Sweden and continued living on the farm at #10 Skoglosa. His grandson lives on this farm today (1986).Sven's father, John Nilsson and Nilla's father, Ola Nilsson, were brothers.
