Nothing is sadder than a badly faded photo in your family album. Fortunately, digital technology can really come to the rescue, even if the photo is faded beyond recognition.
In the last entry, we looked at a photo of Salathiel and Lydia Timmons along with their daughter Effie. Missing in that family photo was their son, Charles Franklin Timmons. We have a couple of photos of Charles as a young man, but they’re so badly faded, you can hardly make sense of them.
Using the simple tools built into Google Picasa, I cropped, straightened, added contrast and was able to see what Charles really looked like. Is it wrong to think that your great-great-grandfather was kind of a hottie?
