I wrote a few weeks ago about some cousins in Sweden on the Rudeen side of the family – today I have news of some cousins in the Brodd family!
I got an email out of the blue the other day from a young man named Martin who wondered if we shared a common ancestor. He had used Google to try and find information about a farm name, “Tångarne” in the Bergstena parish. Turns out that indeed we DO share common ancestors: Johannes Andersson and Anna Cathrine Andersdotter, who were the parents of our Gustafva Johansdotter.
If you need a refresher on “who’s who” in this branch of the family, read “Gustafva Brodd and her siblings“, which I posted back in October, 2014. Martin is descendant of Gustafva’s brother Karl (aka Carl or Kalle). Karl is one of the brothers who stayed in Sweden; Gustafva Brodd , J.W. Johnson, and Anders Peter Telander all came to America.
I thought it might be fun to have a virtual family reunion on this Thanksgiving day. The top set of photos are the Johansson siblings; the bottom set would be their children – first cousins to one another.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
