While she was in Colorado for Thanksgiving, Florence asked about a marriage certificate for her parents, Lawrence and Clarinda Rudeen. I had never seen one, so we looked up the instructions for ordering a copy. Florence handled all the details and sent me my copy last week!
She said in a note, “Notice the name of the pastor – tell your dad!”
Maybe someone can explain the significance in the comments!
The only surprise I came across was an incorrect name for Lawrence’s mother’s maiden name. She was Augusta Mathilda Gustafsdotter – not “Augusta Anderson”.
This document is the State’s record of the marriage event, based on information supplied to them by Saunders County. I believe there still might be another document at the Saunders County Courthouse. It might have additional information on it. Another thing to add to my “to do” list.
