Looking over both Dale’s and my family trees, there is one line that stretches farther than any other. It is on Dale’s mother’s side of the family and stretches back to Dale’s 35th-great-grandfather, Charlemagne – as in “King of the Franks” and “Holy Roman Emperor”.
