Almost on a whim, I checked out the ScotlandsPeople data to see if there was anything new for the Campbell family and was delighted to find that Ann’s baptism record had been added to their digital collection about three months ago.
I have recently uncovered some very sad information about my 4x-great-uncle Joseph Fraser. Joseph was a brother to Andrew Fraser, my 3x-great-grandfather. Andrew emigrated to the United States from Scotland in about 1855. But Joseph stayed in Scotland his entire life.
After watching “The Great War” on PBS this week, I realized the significance of some notes in one of Great-Grandmother Lola’s ledger books, involving both the Frasier and the Pearson families.
I got the “Forgotten Hero” book in the mail earlier this week, and I’ve dug into the family history of the DNA match who shares a common ancestor with us. Nothing definitive yet, but perhaps some progress!
Following up on my trip to Scotland in June, I found out about some DNA testing that is available for males with the Fraser surname. Cousin Sara and I exchanged some ideas, and she quickly recruited her brother to submit a sample. Some really interesting findings have already turned up!
