A NY certificate of birth for Charles William Townsend, says Sarah was born in 1856. The records at Fairview Cemetery list Aug. 24, 1866, as birthdate? In the 1920 census Sarah was living with her son Charles and family in New Britain, Hartford, CT. She said she came to America in 1870. She was listed as widowed.
